Dealing with chandelier can be either easy or hard, depends on whether you know how to deal with it or not. In installing a chandelier dining room lighting, the size of the chandelier and at what height it hangs matter. Why so? Because it will hugely contribute to the mood of the room. Therefore, here we have some rules to help you finding the right chandelier size and its proper placement as well.
Size the Chandelier Dining Room Lighting
In choosing the right chandelier size, there is a simple formula to follow. To know the right size of chandelier in diameter, you can simply add the room’s width and the room’s length and turn the total in inches. For example, for a room with length of 12 foot and width of 12 foot, then the chandelier will be 24-inch in diameter. If you want to place the chandelier above your dining table, you can choose one with a diameter of 2/3 to ¾ of the table width.
Proper Height to Hang Chandelier Dining Room Lighting
Where and at what height you hang the chandelier can affect the overall look of the dining room. Thus, it is important to place it at a proper height. Speaking of hanging a chandelier, it depends on the ceiling height. Of course, the higher the ceiling is, the taller the chandelier. For a safe measurement, simply multiple the ceiling height by 2.5 to 3 to get the right height to place the chandelier. For example, a dining room with standard 8 feet ceiling, the chandelier height will be around 20 to 24 inches. Remember, it should not be placed too close to the ceiling as it might cause the light to not properly function. While hanging the chandelier too low can surely disrupt movement flow.
